A variety of Halloween fun for the whole family throughout October
Leaves are falling and temperatures are dropping, but October is bustling with Halloween spirit at Metro Parks, with several special events planned:

Event: Harvest Party
Location: Sun Valley Community Center (6505 Bethany Lane)
Date: Friday, October 19
Time: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Cost: Must bring a bag of individually wrapped family size candy per child (Ages 0- 10)
Event Details: Come enjoy slides, bouncies, haunted hayride, haunted house, and treat or treating.
Event: “Trunk or Treat”
Location: Douglass Community Center (2305 Douglass Boulevard)
Date: Wednesday, October 24
Time: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Cost: Free
Event Details: Join us at Douglass for a kid-friendly atmosphere at “Trunk or Treat”, where families are invited to decorate the trunk of their car to create a “trick or treat” station, where kids can collect the goodies! Games and refreshments will be available, along with a police helicopter, police talking car and other fun activities.

Event: Zombie Park!
Location: Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center (201 Reservoir Avenue)
Date: Friday, October 26
Time: 8 p.m. to Midnight
Cost: $3 for adults; $2 for children 12 and under
Event Details: Enter Zombie Park – if you dare! Visitors will be led along a frightful path, encountering zombies along the way! Tickets can be purchased in advance, at the aquatic center, or purchased at the event.

Event: Haunted Halls at Beechmont
Location: Beechmont Community Center (205 Wellington Avenue)
Date: Friday, October 26 and Saturday, October 27
Time: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Cost: $2 per person / $1 for face painting
Event Details: Visitors to Beechmont’s “haunted halls” will encounter monsters and scary scenes throughout the building, including “Area 51”, “Kreepy Karnival” and “Hall of Graves” and a mad scientist’s laboratory! Nothing TOO scary, though, because this is geared to be family-oriented event. Event also includes games and activities such as a fortune teller and face painting.

Event: “Arts on Dixie” Fall Art Festival
Location: Metro Arts Center (8360 Dixie Highway)
Date: Saturday, October 27
Time: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Cost: Free
Event Details: The Metro Arts Center will be hosting a fall arts festival that will include art demonstrations, entertainment, and artwork for sale. There will also be an art show of works by students from nearby schools.

Event Details: Visitors will enjoy a slide presentation sharing the haunted histories and ghost stories of many Louisville homes.
