Escape to Your Iroquois Amphitheater This Summer!

By Mike Slaton
Iroquois Amphitheater General Manager

What an exciting season we have lined up!

We will be hosting at least 14 concerts this year, and this will be the third year in a row we have more than doubled the number of national acts to play at the amphitheater! We’re looking forward to great shows from The Shins, Alice Cooper, David Gray, Corey Smith, Rufus Wainright, Black Jacket Symphony and more!

Coming to the Iroquois Amphitheater June 25th

Live theater has always been a part of the amphitheater and we are proud to continue that tradition with Gilbert & Sullivan’s HMS PINAFORE in August. This production features some of Louisville’s finest performers and promises to be a fun-filled time for the whole family!

We are expanding our arts programming with our inaugural Iroquois Amphitheater Presents series featuring concert music and dance. The series kicked off with the Louisville Winds on June 3.
Kentucky Music Weekend returns the last weekend of July. As always, it’s free!

Did you know we moved indoors for the winter last year?
Last fall, we created “Parkside Studio: Inside At Iroquois,” a flexible ‘Black Box’ theater capable of holding about 100 seats and presenting an intimate experience very different than the outdoor experience you’re used to. It was christened with a staged reading of Sinclair Lewis’s “It Can’t Happen Here” and Theatre 502’s “Broadsword,” a contemporary heavy metal play. We’re looking forward to a full season of contemporary and classical plays this fall!

And of course, we’ll keep showing great films this summer, with Movies Under the Stars on the second weekend of May through September, and Monday Night Movies in June and July.

We hope to see you a lot this summer! Walk, drive, bike, or take a bus. Grab an Ehrler’s ice cream cone, hot dog, popcorn, beer or soda when you get here, and sit back and enjoy our 74th year of making magic under the stars!”
